Managing Safeguarding Investigations

This unique immersive learning experience guides participants through a 'real-time' scenario, enhancing key investigative skills throughout the day. Attendees gain a deep understanding of what is involved in a safeguarding investigation, including the 'Golden Hour Principle', the significance of forensics, and the maintenance of clear and precise records. They are introduced to a model known as '5WHiP', created by the course developer, which has been widely adopted for consistent recording of safeguarding concerns within various organizations. Additionally, delegates learn how to compose expert-led referrals to statutory bodies and local authorities, ensuring these referrals are always acknowledged.

This course is independently verified and accredited by the CPD and delegates who complete this course will receive official CPD certificates and credits towards their continued professional development.

Spiritual and Ritual Abuse

In the last five years the UK has seen a 43% increase in reporting of spiritual and ritual abuse. Jordan who facilitates this course has led on hundreds of investigations involving this abuse successfully, including the first ever criminal trial in 2018 where he was able to get it recognised as an aggravating factor.

This course not only provides you with the tools to recognise, report and refer this abuse, but also leave confident in the knowledge you can manage a concern of this kind.

Throughout the course you will learn about different case studies, up to date recording statistics for this abuse in the UK today, how it is embedded in other more well known forms of abuse along with key indictors to be aware of.

Slavery, Trafficking and Exploitation

Trafficking, slavery and exploitation has evolved since the implementation of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 to include and cover so much more than just forced labour, domestic servitude or sexual exploitation. This course helps delegates understand the history of slavery, trafficking and exploitation, how to recognise the signs of exploitation and safeguard those through working with key partners, statutory and NGO's. The course is delivered Jordan who worked as the Director of Safeguarding and Strategic Development for one of the largest providers of the national referral mechanism itself.

Equality, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

A subject that is paramount to every organisation in the UK today. The course we offer goes further than others and embeds activities and interactive learning to greatly assist delegates understand the differences between Equity and Equality, diversity and the importance of inclusivity. It further brings learning techniques to assist delegates how to recognise their own bias and prevent it from becoming a barrier both in the workplace and with the people we seek to support/help.

Domestic Abuse & DASH

The course is facilitated by Jordan who has spent several years surviving domestic abuse, while not seeing it himself as actually being abuse until it was too late. Finally escaping a highly toxic relationship only to find little or no support owing to him identifying as a man, being told by police to just 'man up and deal with it' he decided to develop a course based on his own experiences so as to help others be able recognise this abuse, and act.
